Summer Reading Program {Mommy Style}

0

My kids always look forward to the summer reading program at our local library. They were all smiles when the librarian informed us the program begins Memorial Day Weekend. But why should the kids have all the fun?! I compiled a list of books I plan to read this summer. While I’d love to devour a book every few days like I use to be able to pre-motherhood, I limited it to a top 5 with reasonable hopes of finishing two-ish books a month. I may not earn prizes or a free pizza like my kids will with their summer reading program at the library, but take a look & see if anything catches your eye to create your own Mommy’s Summer Reading List!

  • And Then God Created Woman – Finding Fulfillment as the Woman God Created You to Be
    I must confess, I’ve already started reading this book. I’m not very far in but I absolutely love it so far! While we as women have lots of things in common, we’re also very different. And this book does a great job on diving into those different personality types while also tying them together.
  • Ivanka Trump – Women Who Work
    Regardless your political views, I’m a firm believer that we can learn something from everyone. I love Ivanka’s take on being both a working mother and available for her family. I’m really looking forward to reading this book.
  • Cleaning House: A Mom’s 12 Month Experiment to Rid Her House of Youth Entitlement
    Um, does anything really need to be said about this? I think the title sells itself!!! In today’s day & age, youth entitlement seems to be unavoidable! Being the mother of two young children, I have no doubt this book will leave me with a few new ideas to incorporate into our parenting style.
  • You’re Already Amazing: Embracing Who You Are, Becoming All God Created You to Be
    The busyness of life seems to always leave us wanting more; needing more. I’m excited to read this book and see how the author encourages us as readers to forget the lies and expectations of the world.
  • Good Enough is the New Perfect: Finding Happiness and Success in Modern Motherhood
    Ahh, modern motherhood! Pinterest is such a blessing & a curse all at the same time, isn’t it?! We can all stand to have a periodic reminder that sometimes ‘good enough’ IS perfect and to let go of the little things. I’m looking forward to see the author’s take on this topic.
