MONICA | Blogging since April 2015

Profession: Director of Customer Experience at LexisNexis

What are your kid(s)’ names and ages? Miles (5) and Miro (3)

What do you do for fun in your spare time? Cooking, music festivals, hiking with our dog

Are you a Dayton transplant or were you born n’ raised in the Buckeye state? Born and raised

Where is the furthest you’ve traveled? Cambodia

What is your most memorable concert experience? Crazy camping at Summer Camp Music festival in 2013 – in knee deep mud. Mud everywhere…mud on everything!

What are your post-bedtime guilty pleasures? Bath & a Rumchata

If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Toast with Salty Butter

What is your favorite Dayton locale? Bar Dumaine

What is your most memorable parenting fail? This Halloween I got the kids dressed up in their costumes to go to a party – pulled up – got them out of the car and noticed no one else was there. Figured out quickly we were 3-hours early. Explaining to 2-crying kids why the can’t go to a party <yet> and have to take off their costumes …basically made me the worst mom in the world for several hours!

Would you rather: Potty train? or Give the sex talk? Potty train

What is your favorite post you’ve written for Dayton Moms Blog? Cancer Has Made Us Lucky

KAITY | Blogging since August 2016

Profession: SAHM and Farmers’ Market Co-Director

What are your kid(s)’ names and ages? Charlie (2) and Crosby (6 months)

What do you do for fun in your spare time? In addition to Dayton Moms Blog, I also maintain a personal blog called (Bee)autiful Blessings. If I’m not blogging, in my spare time you may find me reading, gardening, running, and/or thinking of new ways to remodel and decorate my house.

Are you a Dayton transplant or were you born n’ raised in the Buckeye state? Transplant

Where is the furthest you’ve traveled? When I was a junior in college, I spent a semester abroad in Uganda. I spent a week living in a mud hut, bungee jumped over the Nile River, and ate enough rice and beans for a lifetime!

What is your most memorable concert experience? At the height of American Idol’s popularity, I was semi-obsessed with country singer, Bucky Covington. My step-dad managed to snag front row seats for my sister and I at his show. Midway through, he pulled us onstage to dance with him!

What are your post-bedtime guilty pleasures? Dark chocolate and reality TV. I hate/love MTV’s The Challenge and The Bachelor.

If you could eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Sandwiches? I love food so much that this would be a worst-case scenario for me. I feel like I could technically make a lot of things qualify as sandwiches and still maintain a diversity of foods. (You can tell I’ve given this entirely too much thought).

What is your favorite Dayton locale? I’m still a Dayton newbie, but I love window shopping in Yellow Springs and going for ice cream at Young’s Jersey Dairy afterward!

What is your most memorable parenting fail? I have had to deal with a poop/puke-explosion without a change of clothes in my diaper bag more times than I care to admit.

Would you rather: Potty train? or Give the sex talk? Give the sex talk

What is your favorite post you’ve written for Dayton Moms Blog? What I Wish Someone Had Told me About Postpartum Sex

Yeahhh…had babe at work with me and decided to use boss’s desk as a changing table. Mid poopy diaper change he decided to christen the desk with his pee. I still haven’t told my boss.
