: Today we are excited to talk about Boonshoft Museum of Discovery and Offer a HUGE giveaway! :

My husband and I are joyfully raising polar opposite boys. Our oldest Cooper is very analytical, a rule follower, information/facts hog, cautious, and future engineer. Reid, our youngest, is an act now-think later, boundary pusher, adventure lover and throws caution to the wind! These differences keep our days lively but our outings complicated at times. Cooper would be satisfied going to a library and reading for hours at a time but Reid wants to be moving and exploring. Children’s museums, zoos and places like these check every box on both of their lists! Recently we heard of Boonshoft Museum.

Our family enjoyed a day out a few Fridays ago and due to the recent referral, we decided to spend it at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton. Since moving to the area two years ago, we hadn’t had the chance to visit the FullSizeRendermuseum yet. I had heard amazing things about it and numerous parents telling me how much my boys would love it. I was quickly won over minutes after walking in! We visited the Hall of the Universe first where Cooper began reading each and every sign and fact that he could get his eyes on. Reid just wanted to touch everything, which thankfully is expected and encouraged at Boonshoft Museum! Reid then excitingly led us to an exhibit called Explorers Crossing where he had the freedom to try on a handful of different “job” areas freely but could still be supervised. He loved the Animal hospital and being able to try the light board with diffferent animals xrays. Giving a three year old an illusion of freedom is a beautiful thing and hard to master!! Boonshoft has done an incredible job of this throughout the museum. Reid and Cooper were free to explore at their own pace and at whatever exhibit they enjoyed most all while being easily supervised.

IMG_6139When our visit came to an end, both boys were happy, satisfied, and exhausted. All three requirements for a successful family outing in my book! We were so incredibly pleased with how friendly the staff was, how helpful and informative they were. The quality of the museum was beyond our expectations. Our family will be purchasing a membership to Boonshoft Museum ASAP cause this momma needs a no fail place to run my kids to this summer!

Amber
Hi Dayton Moms, my name is Amber! I am blessed with a wonderful husband of nine years along with two smart, rambunctious, and life-loving boys. I am originally from Alabama, but our family has very much grown to love this area and proud to call Dayton home! I am a stay at home mom as well as a certified postpartum doula and the owner of Delighted Doula. My passion, in addition to my family, is educating, assisting, and empowering mothers during the first few months after birth. When i’m not caring for mothers and their babies I’m searching for new allergy free recipes to make for my family (our son has a laundry list of allergies and intolerances,) meeting for coffee with friends, and finding new places for my boys to run off their energy! What I love best about motherhood is being a mom to two boys. Everything is an adventure to them and being taught how see life that way is so much fun!
