This post is part of a sponsored relationship between Dayton Moms Blog and the Hocking Hills Tourism Association. Our writer was thrilled to have this experience and all opinions expressed are authentic.

As a born and raised Buckeye, I’m always astonished at the beauty that lies within our own state lines.  I always forget how close and stunning Hocking Hills can be, and while I usually wouldn’t book my trip for January due to the chilly weather, I now can say it may be one of my favorite times for a get away!

Hocking Hills is often known for their breathtaking views, quality trails and quaint lodging, but have you heard of their delicious food?! I was super excited for the opportunity to learn about the Comfort Food Cruise and get to experience the tour first hand!

The 2017 Comfort Food Cruise runs January 14-15, 21-22, 28-29 and each ticket gets you one free dish at each of thirteen stops. You “cruise” from diner to restaurant, enjoying delicious comfort food at each stop. While you are more than welcome to order off the regular menu, each place will be a featuring a dish they are known for! Another huge bonus in my books is $5 from each ticket will go towards the local food banks… fun, food + travel with a cause!

While on our stay, we had the ability to stay at Cedar Hill Lodge where we all enjoyed everything the grounds had to offer… a hot tub, theatre room, pool table and more.

Our first taste of the cruise was a private dinner tutorial with Chef Matt of Lake Hope Lodge where he cooked a homemade meal in the comfort of our own cabin! I couldn’t believe how yummy and beautiful it all was!

The next morning, we made our first stop for breakfast with biscuits + gravy at Pearl’s Diner.  We met the kindest, sweetest owner and filled our bellies before heading out to do some winter hiking.

When we all needed a break from the delicious foods, we headed out to the snowy trails to take in the breathtaking frozen waterfalls and views.  You better believe this preggo mama took the time for a bump shot with the beautiful frozen falls!

After we were all frozen, it was time to warm back up with some delicious chicken + noodles at The Olde Dutch Restaurant {and don’t forget the pie bar too!!}.

One of my favorite parts of the cruise was exploring different towns.  The next stop of your tour might be heading over to Nelsonville where you can stop by the Nelsonville Emporium to shop for local art, foods and gifts, then grab a pick-me-up at FullBrooks Cafe before heading into your next stop: Boot Factory Grill! Known for their bison burgers and prime rib sliders, it won’t disappoint! Make sure to stop by before heading out to grab a gift at their 3 level shop! Before heading home for the night, make sure to stop at The Home Tavern {on the cruise!} or at the Hocking Hills Winery for a beer or wine!

Our last stop on the cruise (but certainly not the last on your list!) was breakfast at The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls. Chef Anthony came out to chat with our group and we all shouted praises his way. On the list for the cruise is a brownie you do. not. want. to. miss!!! Delicious food and the coziest inns + cottages. You’ll be booking your next trip as soon as you leave!! Don’t forget about their spa offering facials and massages {** for all you pregnant mama’s, they even offer prenatal massages!!}.
