#GetToTheBC: The Best of Butler County Food

This post is part of a sponsored relationship, however, we are thrilled to be able to help spread the word about the amazing local businesses and destinations included in this post.

My family and I recently had the privilege of traveling to Butler County and trying out some of the best that they have to offer. We were able to try out three different food places and thoroughly enjoyed our time and experience at each one!

The first place that we went was NorthStar Cafe, located at the heart of the Liberty Center in Liberty Township, Ohio. Northstar Cafe is extremely conscious of the impact that our food choices make on our bodies and our environment. They use only locally grown, organic, and artisan-produced foods at each of their restaurants. Not only is the inside of the restaurant beautiful, but the food that comes out from the kitchen is delicious and healthy! My entire family enjoyed our lunch at Northstar! I actually ordered a vegan veggie burger even though I’m not vegan. It was delicious! And that’s saying a lot coming from someone who isn’t vegan!

How cute is this little corner? Doesn’t it make you want to cozy up with a warm cup of tea and just people watch or read a good book?

For dinner, we headed to Bagger Dave’s. Bagger Dave’s is a casual burger joint that is the perfect family atmosphere (with a bar for the adults!). The menu features salads, burgers, soups and more burgers! But my three-year-old would argue that the absolute best part of Bagger Dave’s is the TRAIN! There is a train that runs around the top of the restaurant and my kids LOVED it!

The last and final food stop that we did was actually a series of several stops! Have you ever heard of the Butler County Donut Trail? I had never heard of it, either, but my family got to experience it and we LOVED it. The Donut Trail is a set of 10 “Mom and Pop” donut shops in Butler County. Each one features a unique #donuttrail sign and a stamp in the passport! Once all 10 donut shops have been found and visited, you can send your passport to the Butler County Visitors Bureau and receive a free t-shirt! Honestly, it is quite a bit of driving, and I recommend doing it over 2+ days. Each donut shop is unique and has their own specialty donuts. And…who doesn’t love donuts?!?

We felt like we found three of the best family-friendly food stops in Butler County! And yet, there so much more that we could have discovered and eaten!

Suzanne Hines
Hi, I'm Suzanne! I am a Christian, wife to Theo, Mom to Tera Evelynne (18 months) and foster Mom to some of the most precious foster kiddos placed in our home. I grew up far, far away from Dayton as a missionary kid in West Africa. After graduating from my international high school, I attended Cedarville University. A few months into my freshman year, I met an incredible man named Theo. Although I had sworn off dating, there I was...dating him! We were married by my junior year and the rest is history! We stuck around the area and I am now proud to call the Dayton area home. Theo works for the Dayton Fire Department and I am a stay at home Mom. Most of my day consists of chasing children, feeding children, cleaning up after children and driving them all around to their various appointments (foster care makes for A LOT of driving!!). In my spare time (har har har), I love to cook, run, browse Pinterest and Instagram and read books and maintain my blog (www.suzannehines.org). My family loves to explore outside, to attend festivals and events and to find frugal ways to live in the Dayton area. My favorite thing about motherhood is watching my children develop their own little personality! How did I create this walking, talking, living, breathing, giggling, kissing human being?!? What a miracle!
