National Book Lovers Day – 10 Must Read Books

8

Calling all bookworms! Today is National Book Lovers Day. As a book lover myself, this is a day I love celebrating. I find that the older our son gets, the harder it is to for me to find time to read. Because reading is something that I truly enjoy I’ll squeeze in a chapter or two daily. I may read for 15-20 minutes before my little guy wakes up in the morning, during quiet time or before turning in for the night. While my books per month has drastically gone down since becoming a mother, I still find a few moments daily to spend with a good book. With Fall and Winter right around the corner, now is the time to creating and updating your reading list.

The Martian by Andy Weir

The Zookeeper’s Wife: A War Story by Diane Ackerman

Miss Peregine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

Now that you have your list, head to your local library and check out a handful of new books to keep you company. For an added bonus consider reading The Girl on the Train, The Zookeeper’s Wife, Miss Peregine’s Home for Peculiar Children and The Light Between Oceans as all 4 novels will be hitting the big screen over the next year. Happy reading, friends!

Welcome! I'm Stephanie, wife and Momma to 1, blogger at Wife Mommy Me (www.wifemommyme.com and born and raised Buckeye. I spend my days raising our little man while my husband works for a international IT training company. If I'm not chasing around the little one, I love to read, blog, run (oh so slowly) and cook calorie filled goodness. My little guy and are very much day adventurers; we love visiting local parks, hiking and finding a new splash pad. Our family loves taking in local fairs and festivals on the weekends. After living 2 year in Austin, Texas it feels great to be back home.

  1. Stephanie, this is a great list of books with several I have not read. When I read The Nightingale I had to read it backwards. Ha! Very good book! Thanks for this list!

    • The Nightingale was so good! But so sad as well. I get that you had to read it backwards. It was one of those books that twisted a bit, deepening the storyline.

    • Start with Girl on the Train. So good and there is a moving coming out which would be PERFECT for a date night 🙂

    • I enjoy “meeting” bookworms. It always blows my mind when I learn that people DON’T like to read.

  2. GREAT suggestions!!! I love love a good list. Thanks for linking to Goodreads. Makes it easy to add to my want to read book. As an aside – if you are looking for an easy good read try R.I.L.Y Forever by Norah Bennett. It’s her debut novel but I think she did fantastic. Not the genre I usually read but I like it!

    • I will add that to my list. It’s never-ending of course but I love pulling from my list and finding a new favorite book or writer.
