Storytime GuideTell me a story! Can you read it, AGAIN! ?! I think you skipped a page!

Reading is such a magical experience for children of all ages.  But sometimes, mama needs a break from that Hungry Caterpillar! You are in luck, there are many opportunities for your children to share their love of books, and most of them are FREE!  Enjoy these quick tips along with your Storytimes Around Dayton Guide.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Child Appropriate:  Many story times are divided by age and/or topic.  Choose the class that is the best fit for your child.
  2. Mom Appropriate:  DO NOT burden yourself with story time.  Pick a time that is convenient for you as well! This should be a pleasant experience for all involved.  If you miss one, try for the next one.  Cut yourself some slack.
  3. RSVP:  Many libraries have limited space and supplies.  Please be mindful of programs that ask for you to reserve your space.  Many story times are also run by volunteers, so it is important to be courteous of their time as well!
  4. A great place to meet:  Story time mamas have a few things in common.  Their children are the same age, they believe in the importance of books, and they like to get out of the house.  This could be a great place to make a new friend- or at least have some adult conversation!
