1. Ohio State Fair

***DMB Mom Tip*** Do research before you go! This is the largest fair in the state of Ohio so a game plan will be crucial!

2. Outdoor Family Movie Night at The Greene: Featuring Moana

***DMB Mom Tip*** Let the kids wear their jammies to make bedtime easier if they fall asleep on the way home.

  • Cost: FREE
  • Bring chairs and some popcorn and watch this classic under the stars!

3. Vintage Truck Show at Young’s Jersey Dairy

***DMB Mom Tip*** This kind of goes without saying, but make sure you save room for ice cream!

  • Cost: FREE
  • 9am-4pm
  • Bring your old truck, your family, and your friends, and join in the fun.

4. Peach Daze Festival at Hidden Valley Fruit Farm

***DMB Mom Tip*** Your kids won’t want to miss the friendly barnyard and pallet maze. 

  • August 5th-6th
  • 11am-5pm
  • Featuring:  Peach Cobbler, Peach Shortcakes, Peach Turnovers, Peach Ice Cream, Frozen Custard, Ice Cream Sundaes, Hank’s Root Beer Floats, Cider Donuts, Country Lunch & more! Hayrides – hourly on the hour, Face Painting, Barnyard Animals, Bounce House & Freedom Express Train Rides for children.

5. Aullwood Free Admission Sunday

***DMB Mom Tip*** There is a 3/4 mile trail that connects the farm with the nature center. If you have little ones, it may be easier to drive between the two instead of walk.

  • Bring your family and friends to explore six miles of trails, meet farm animals, enjoy a wagon ride or look for native birds!

6. Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the Schuster

***DMB Mom Tip*** Let your littles dress in character to make the outing that much more fun!

7. Food Truck Friday’s in Centerville

***DMB Mom Tip*** Bring the stroller – the local stores will be staying open late!

  • 5-8pm
  • Delight in eight unique and delicious food trucks where all dishes are made fresh to order. Take a summer stroll through the surrounding shops and businesses that will be open late!

8. Germanfest Picnic

***DMB Mom Tip*** There is a Polka Mass on Sunday at 10am.

  • August 11th-13th
  • 5-8pm
  • This year’s picnic has a new venue: The RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton.

9. Art on the Commons

***DMB Mom Tip*** Bring your holiday shopping list as this is the perfect opportunity to get a jump on your holiday gifts.

  • Art on the Commons features live music and concessions in a scenic outdoor park of reflecting pools and paved walkway

10. National Aviation Family Day at Wright Patterson Airforce Base

***DMB Mom Tip*** Rent some books on airplanes from the library before you go to get your little one excited about planes!

  • Cost: FREE
  • Learn about aerospace technology and history from 1903 to 2016 and beyond in honor of National Aviation Day. 

11. Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival

***DMB Mom Tip*** Check out the 1840’s Pioneer Village with candle making, silversmithing, blacksmithing, stockades and black powder gun demonstrations.

  • All day both days, there are activities for children including pony rides and the Big Bounce.

12.Clifton Gorge Music and Arts Festival

***DMB Mom Tip*** Head out early and add some hiking into your day.

  • August 25th-26th
  • Cost: FREE
  • The event will feature back to back live music, displays of arts and crafts, as well as vendors for shopping and eating, activities for the kids, plus a beer tent.
