Our family can’t get enough of Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton! You may recall a post I shared a few months back about our first visit to the museum. We loved our time so much that we are now proud annual membership holders and frequent visitors! The boys and are are still in what I consider the “awe and amazed phase”, where every time we visit there is something new to explore that they missed the last time.

Cooper, our oldest son, turned seven a few weeks ago. His first choice for a birthday location was non other than Boonshoft!

boonshoft birthday partyBoonshoft Museum of Discovery has an all-star staff who were there every step of the way for our party. Beginning at the planning stages and continuing through to the day of the party, they truly made it a breeze! We decided to rent out one of the Bieser Discovery Classrooms because our group was a bit larger and this way we could decide the flow of the party and when during the party our group would explore the museum. With the rental you are given two hours of reserved party time in the room and then your guests are free to explore the museum for as long as they like until the museum closes. I literally only had to provide cake, food, paper products and a few decorations and Boonshoft handled the rest. There was also no worrying if everyone was having fun – we were at an indoor science wonderland!

BoonshoftOnce we finished cake and presents, our group dispersed out through the museum! Each family was free to explore at their own speed and visit the areas that they were most interested in. We spent the majority of our time at the water table and slides, because what kid doesn’t love that combination?! Needless to say at the end of the afternoon each child had an amazing time and was successfully prepared for a nap. I love including our family favorite local go-to places into our birthday and life celebrations!

Amber
Hi Dayton Moms, my name is Amber! I am blessed with a wonderful husband of nine years along with two smart, rambunctious, and life-loving boys. I am originally from Alabama, but our family has very much grown to love this area and proud to call Dayton home! I am a stay at home mom as well as a certified postpartum doula and the owner of Delighted Doula. My passion, in addition to my family, is educating, assisting, and empowering mothers during the first few months after birth. When i’m not caring for mothers and their babies I’m searching for new allergy free recipes to make for my family (our son has a laundry list of allergies and intolerances,) meeting for coffee with friends, and finding new places for my boys to run off their energy! What I love best about motherhood is being a mom to two boys. Everything is an adventure to them and being taught how see life that way is so much fun!
