Date Night Revived… at Scene 75

1

Date Night Rut. If you have children, perhaps you’ve been in one OR are in one!

After child number two, my husband and I realized we had been in “the rut” since our first was born. We have the same groundhog day discussion to determine where we will go. Ultimately we settle on the same ‘ol chain restaurant. Sometimes to not get home too early we would wander aimlessly around Wal-Mart in order to get home after the kids bedtime. Sad, but true.

Clearly, we needed a date night intervention.

Scene 75, like your favorite super-hero, swooped in and “saved the date!” I was asked to take a visit to this awesome Dayton venue to provide feedback about it being a Date Night option. I had never been and clearly with the rut we were in, we had nothing to lose. I did a little homework online and couldn’t believe what all they had to offer.

Just to name a few of those things… a 150-seat restaurant, two full service bars, a snack bar, indoor electric go-kart tracks, the largest ticket redemption and video arcade in Dayton, gaming theater, multi-level Laser Tag, inflatable arena, bumper cars, Black Light Mini-Golf, Mini-Bowling, 4D Theater, Lazer Frenzy maze, five private party rooms, three outdoor sand volleyball courts, two outdoor bocce courts, and an enormous outdoor patio. Seriously.

Scene 75 BarYou may be thinking to yourself…isn’t this more of a place for kids? Absolutely not! It was a great environment to connect with my husband again and to just have fun together.  We had to work as a team as we tried to win prizes from the arcade games.  We laughed together at my skills (or lack thereof) in mini bowling. We enjoyed a drink together at The Center Bar –where you can pick up a drink and then carry it around with you at the facility.

imageI firmly believe that date nights are very important to a healthy marriage.  I encourage you to plan your next date night at Scene 75.  Have a little fun with your spouse, prove you are the better driver at go-karts and then pick up some gifts for the kids at the prize counter from your arcade winnings. Win-Win for everyone, right?

I’m a fan. I’ve already convinced my son that we are having his birthday party there. Mommy’s like to have fun too!

Have you ever been there for Date Night? We’d love for you to share with other Dayton Moms your experience!

Scene 75 is located at 6196  Poe Avenue. I highly recommend you check out the attractions to plan for your fun filled night.

I am the mother to two of the most well behaved children in the history of children. They listen the first time around, always clean up their messes and sleep peacefully through the night. I greet my husband at the door each night looking like a million bucks with a dinner on the table that even Martha Stewart would envy. Lies. All of it. I am blessed to be a mother to two red haired (in looks and personality) boys who are so full of energy and life you can't help but to smile. They are not known to listen the first time, sleep through the night or clean up after themselves, but they do give the worlds best kisses, so it pretty much evens out. I do greet my husband at the door each night, but usually in sweats and with a baby in hand to give to him so I can run back to the stove before dinner burns. Aside from running a non-perfect household, I also work at home sharing my Plexus health and wellness business. My faith is important to me and guides my decision making in life (minus the time I had terrible bangs in middle school-there is no way that was a God thing.) My husband proposed to me by golden ticket inside of a Willy Wonka bar and that pretty much sums up our entire relationship. My favorite phrase is "it will change your life" but it is usually only true 10% of the time. My favorite things about motherhood: taught me what unconditional love really means and finally having an excuse to wear sweats every day!
