The Struggle Is Real: Christmas Detox

0

Christmas is over! Wow, we are so fortunate to have so many people in our lives who love our boys! Its amazing! My boy’s grandparents are so generous! My boy’s uncles had to give toys as well! Of course, my husband and I had to provide gifts under the tree! Despite our efforts to reduce materialism, our boys were not left without anything on their lists (except maybe a telescope to see Neptune)!

We had such an amazing time in the week or so before the holidays. We did breakfast with Santa, went ice-skating, Zoo Lights and made our rounds to visit families and various parties. We had a wonderful time making memories!

The sugar high lasted for days!

My house is a disaster!

Everyone is exhausted!

My boys’ routines are wrecked!

The struggle is real!

So, we are now recovering from the fun and chaos of the holidays. We are so grateful for all of the generosity. We have created memories which will last a lifetime. NOW, we are detoxing! We are purging old toys and making places for new toys. We are relaxing at home and allowing our house to be a mess. We are returning to routines. We are limiting sugar and trying to get back to regular meals. The struggle is real!

How do you detox after the holidays?

Hi, I’m Lisa and I’m a 30-something year old Mom to 2 adorable and active boys. Kamdyn is 6 months old and Kasyn is 3 years old. I have spent my professional career working with students with an autism spectrum disorder as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I currently work part-time with my husband through www.keyaba.com As a Mama and Wife, I grocery shop with coupons and try living a frugal life (although I’m not perfect). I also like to scrapbook and capture every moment possible. I love to travel. I’m getting better at meal-planning and cooking regularly. My boys and I are on-the-go and always taking advantage of various opportunities and activities around Dayton. My favorite things about motherhood are watching my children learn and discover and rough-housing with my boys.
