I recently had the chance to step into Whole Foods Market in Centerville for the first time. I immediately fell in love with it.

From the sweet Christmas decor outside, to the ambiance inside, everything was charming. I eyed the juicy fruits and colorful veggies and spotted a sign that explained that all the fruits and vegetables are grown responsibly. I noticed that Whole Foods Market stocks natural skincare and body products. I then passed the bulk supplies section and wondered why more stores don’t have that. Hitting up the wine and beer aisles was incredible, because it struck me that a lot of the beer available is sourced from local breweries. I was drawn to the bakery section, where they had fresh breads and pastries, as well as desserts that were baked free of artificial dyes and preservatives. I ended my trip around the store realizing that Whole Foods Market also has a small prepared foods area complete with salads, entrees, pizza and a bar which I had no idea existed inside those walls.

wfm_logo_2017-1When I met with Lauren, the Marketing Team Leader, from Whole Foods Market, she explained to me that Whole Foods Market does not sell any products, foods or even ingredients that contain artificial flavoring, dyes, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils. Not only do they commit to providing foods free of these risky ingredients, they also work with local farmers (within 100 miles) to source many of their products.

I know what you are thinking after hearing about all of that. Surely all of that comes at a hefty price tag. We all know that paying for quality, organic ingredients can get really expensive, really fast!

But I am here to tell you that is NOT the case with Whole Foods Market! In fact, Whole Foods Market works hard to create discounts and many ways to save money. From a money-saving app, to bi-monthly coupon books, Whole Foods Market has you covered if you want quality ingredients for a great price. This is a win in any mom’s book!

The main way that Whole Foods Market helps you save, is through their store brand: 365 Everyday Value. Almost all the products in the store can be found in the 365 Everyday Value brand.

I used the Appetizer Recipe booklet that Whole Foods Market provides to create these three delicious and affordable appetizers using mainly ingredients from the 365 Everyday Value Brand. (There is a great Whole FoodsMarket recipe resource online as well!)

Suzanne Hines
Hi, I'm Suzanne! I am a Christian, wife to Theo, Mom to Tera Evelynne (18 months) and foster Mom to some of the most precious foster kiddos placed in our home. I grew up far, far away from Dayton as a missionary kid in West Africa. After graduating from my international high school, I attended Cedarville University. A few months into my freshman year, I met an incredible man named Theo. Although I had sworn off dating, there I was...dating him! We were married by my junior year and the rest is history! We stuck around the area and I am now proud to call the Dayton area home. Theo works for the Dayton Fire Department and I am a stay at home Mom. Most of my day consists of chasing children, feeding children, cleaning up after children and driving them all around to their various appointments (foster care makes for A LOT of driving!!). In my spare time (har har har), I love to cook, run, browse Pinterest and Instagram and read books and maintain my blog (www.suzannehines.org). My family loves to explore outside, to attend festivals and events and to find frugal ways to live in the Dayton area. My favorite thing about motherhood is watching my children develop their own little personality! How did I create this walking, talking, living, breathing, giggling, kissing human being?!? What a miracle!

  1. We are also big fans of Whole Foods – I agree that the only way it is affordable is with their brand, but I do love all that they are committed to. The problem is that once I’m in the store- I want it all! Ha. Not so good for the bank account. I’m glad to hear your experience was so good!
